So there’s this affiliate marketer I know who is just a slightly bigger n00b than I am. See how I admit to being a affiliate n00b? Well this is a problem that I will fix by reading affbuzz daily.
Affbuzz is a site that very simply aggregates news, blogs, forum banter and videos. Basically everything that is being talked about in the affiliate industry shows up on this page.
When a n00b decides to commit to learning affiliate marketing, there’s a phase through which he or she passes. Its a transition from reading and learning do actual “doing”. Many never make it to the “doing” part because they can’t seem to stop reading DigitalPoint or WarriorForum in hopes that someone will post a $49 ebook that will solve all of their problems.
Once an affiliate stops reading and starts doing, its easy to forget to keep up with industry trends. That’s why I’m bookmarking affbuzz and I look forward to click, click, clicking on it everyday until Justin’s server shits the bed. Justin is the marketer I mentioned in paragraph one. We go way back. We was a punk then and is a punk now. He used to say “caio” all the time. He is an attempted hipster.
Sometimes it is fun to take a break from writing weak ad-copy and stealing peoples landing pages and just have a look at what some affiliates are up to offline. There’s fun topics like what John Chow is eating, what Jon Volk is not eating, how much money Cakes lost at craps, Adcock’s obsession with celebrity-news and how many times one can dickroll CashtacticsKris’s mom.
Someday I will post a post relative to affiliate marketing. I might even post my uber-awesome Facebook script that can help you get your campaigns approved with deft awesomeness. Leave a comment and maybe I will get motivated to post more.
That is all for now.

I had some trouble recently setting up a Windows XP machine as a file server on my home network. I kept getting the error “the operation cannot be completed because the original item for [FolderName] cannot be found” when I would open a shared folder from the MacBook Pro running Leopard.
I found this fix which was originally posted for Mac OS X 10.4.x Tiger users experiencing the same problem. Its a registry hack for Windows.
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters
4. In the right pane, double-click the IRPStackSize value.
NOTE: If the IRPStackSize value does not already exist, use the following procedure to create it:a. In the Parameters folder of the registry, right-click the right pane.
b. Point to New, and then click DWord Value.
c. Type IRPStackSize.
IMPORTANT: Type “IRPStackSize” exactly as it is displayed because the value name is case-sensitive.
5. Change the Base to decimal.
6. In the Value Data box, type a value that is larger than the value that is listed.
If you created the IRPStackSize value using the procedure described in step 4, the default value is 15. It is recommended that you increase the value by 3. Therefore, if the previous value was 11, type 14, and then click OK.
7. Close the Registry Editor.
8. Restart the computer.

Who doesn’t love putting on the Vince Guaraldi Trio’s Charlie Brown Christmas album this time of year? Its such a great album. I can’t do Christmas without it. This year, I’ve discovered another Christmas classic by the amazing pianist, Butch Thompson. Butch’s jellyroll rag flavor will add just the right about of blue to your red, white and green. Click the album covers below to be taken to iTunes.

One thing I’ve learned about predicting what Apple will do next is that you pretty much can’t. No one would have wanted to predict this action before today:
http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2008/12/16macworld.html
Apple® today announced that this year is the last year the company will exhibit at Macworld Expo. Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, will deliver the opening keynote for this year’s Macworld Conference & Expo, and it will be Apple’s last keynote at the show.
Let the Steve Jobs’ health and retirement rumors commence.

The holy grail of free, wireless calendar syncing with Google Calendar, iCal and iPhone is upon us. If you’re not a fan of the idea of paying for things like MobileMe, then consider how to get full calendar syncing with these free services:
First - Nuevasync is a free service that will allow push syncing over-the-air between your Google Calendar and your iPhone. Check Ian Fernando’s blog for a nice how-to:
http://www.ianfernando.com/2008/sync-google-calendar-with-iphone-3g/
Second - To get push syncing happening with iCal on your Mac, download and run this utility.

Its as easy as that. Have a nice day.
Update:
Have an Exchange/Outlook calendar too? Try adding this to the mix. (Thanks to Josh K. for the idea.)
